About PFIT
When we started Trace we researched what hirers wanted from a recruitment agency. We found that the hiring / joining decision is made after a relatively small amount of time together by the candidate and the hiring manager. Delivering more insight into what the candidate is like, what motivates them, how emotionally intelligent they are, how they take decisions and what company culture they are looking for would help inform picking someone who will “fit”.
We worked with academia and occupational psychologists to come up with a profile. After using PFIT™ to profile over 4,000 candidates we have now redesigned it from what we have learned – this learning again driven by research with clients and candidates.
PFIT™ covers five areas:
1. Personality – based on the Big Five Personality Model.
2. Emotional Intelligence – evaluating self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy and social skills.
3. Decision making process – using the satisfier / optimiser axis of decision making with details on clarifier, ideator, developer and implementer characteristics.
4. Cultural preferences – mapping the attractiveness of the four main company cultures.
5. Motivations – using trade off techniques to push candidates to share more.
We are excited that PFIT™ gives candidates an opportunity to really think through what they are like and what they are looking for and gives hirers a rich insight into candidates that would be difficult to achieve via interviewing alone.

Step 1 Login Details
We send you log-in details via email. You log onto the questionnaire where and when best suitable for you. Later on, you can use the same log-in to access your report. Only you will have access to your results.

Step 2 Questionnaire
Generally, sitting the questionnaire takes about 30-45min. You will be answering a mixture of questions (multiple choice, scaled, open-ended, etc.). There is no need to complete the survey in one go: you can log off at any point and continue later.

Step 3 Report
After completion, you will automatically receive your system-generated report via email. Language used in the report is easy to follow and doesn’t require any specialist interpretation skills.

Step 4 Scoring
The report gives you detailed scores on aspects of personality, cultural compatibility, integrative complexity, and so on. In an aggregated team report, the scores are combined and individual answers kept anonymous.

Step 5 Team Report
An aggregated team report allows the manager to see how the team’s collective values measure against those of the company and where the biggest hotspots of discrepancy are.
Whats in it for you?

We want to help our clients to make smart, long term decisions, ultimately reducing recruitment spend. To measure a candidate against your existing employees, we can take Predictive Fit Profiler™ a step further. We ask you to select 5-10 employees from your company or team whom you consider to be high-performing culture-carriers to complete the questionnaire. They log in and complete it at their convenience, just as a candidate would. Their responses are then aggregated to provide a true reflection of your team’s cultural identity, and outlook. This aggregate is then used to size up any potential hire and give you confidence in your decisions. What are the major benefits? Not only will you be able to spot a candidate who’s right for the job, but also the team. You will learn more about your teams perceived identity. You will learn more about your teams motivations and how well you are meeting them. More insight into the candidate prior to interview, highlighting areas to probe.
Candidate
Every candidate we represent completes the Predictive Fit Profiler™ questionnaire as part of their assessment. The questionnaire is administered online, making it possible to log in wherever and whenever most convenient for you. Completion takes about 30-45 minutes but doing it in one sitting is optional. Once finished, the candidate receives a system-generated PDF report with unique results. Language used in the questionnaire, as well as the report, is easy to follow and doesn’t require any specialist interpretation skills. What are the major benefits? We want to challenge assumptions.
